ARC welcomes the Chancellor’s focus on fairer tax within the Autumn Statement; the policy paper states that the ‘government will … consider how the system could be made fairer between workers carrying out the same work under different arrangements’.
ARC has long campaigned for a fairer tax system for supplied personnel, arguing that agency workers, contractors and the self-employed who are supplied through an agency, should benefit from a simplified and consistent tax regime.
Adrian Marlowe, Chairman of ARC, said “We are glad to see that government accepts that there is a need in this area; we launched a Manifesto in September on this point, with other ideas to make the UK a more attractive place to do business post-Brexit, and we look forward to seeing how government intends to implement these plans.”
